Holiday & Christmas Performances in Gainesville
It’s the most wonderful time of year! What better way to get excited about the upcoming holiday season than experiencing a variety of spectacular events in the Gainesville area. A highlight in the area is the abundance of live performances that take place throughout the month of December. While there are always the classics like The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, you could consider seeing The Hippodrome’s spectacular performance of A Tuna Christmas. A humorous performance by the Hippodrome performers takes the holiday spirit and transforms in into a southern influenced comedic act. This performance starts on November 23rd and continues up until December 23rd.
Dance Alive National Ballet provides a Sugar Plum Tea Event on December 21 and 22 at the UF Phillips Center for the Performing Arts starting at 4pm. This is a time for the whole family to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Court from The Nutcracker while enjoying some brewed tea.
Mr. Jack Daniels Original Silver Cornet Hometown Christmas at the University Auditorium on December 6th at 7:30 pm takes the audience back to Tennessee at the turn of the 20th century and the holiday memories associated with this time.
Finally, on December 17th at 7:30 is the performance of Danu Christmas in Ireland taking place at the UF Phillips Center of the Performing Arts. This performance is centered on the musical celebration of a traditional Christmas holiday in Ireland.
